Biography

Jonathan was born in Liverpool, the eldest of four and educated by Catholic Christian Brothers. He graduated from Bristol University then entered into the Armed Forces. After attending The Royal Military Academy of Sandhurst he was commissioned into the infantry, The Green Howards. He served worldwide and saw active service in Bosnia, Northern Ireland where he was head of operations over Belfast.  In 2003 he joined the senior planning team of 7th Armoured Brigade (The Desert Rats) for the UK/US Iraq invasion and subsequent liberation of Basrah.  During this time he became the Military Assistant to Brigadier Graham Binns DSO MC CBE.  In 2004 whilst attending the Joint Command and Staff College he suffered a cardiac arrest. This changed his outlook on life, work and family. He made a full recovery and was promoted to regional Chief of Staff over the NW Army. Here he designed and rolled out an audacious new plan to engage with disaffected youth in deprived city areas. The project was a huge success; Jonathan was subsequently awarded an MBE by Her Majesty The Queen. In 2009 Jonathan decided to do something very different and he left the organisation he loved and served for 16 years.

In 2009 he was made Associate Director of Diagnostics over Wirral Foundation Trust Hospitals. Upon leaving the Trust he set up STORM delivering specialised consultancy in Care consultancy, business resilience and counter terrorism.

Jonathan and his wife Joanne own and manage Rosebank Care Home, currently graded OUTSTANDING by the Care Quality Commission(CQC) that provides dementia and learning disability care. Jonathan is one of the leading UK care consultants that specialises in trouble shooting NHS Trusts, Care Homes and specialised social care. STORM delivers some of the largest UK care shows and provide Care Quality Commission specialised training to NHS Trusts and the social care sector.

He is a respected international speaker on social care compliance, counter terrorism, business resilience and Leadership Development. His delivery is electric, high energy but above all highly entertaining. Audiences and delegates will not have seen anything like this before. He is married to his ‘blind date’ Joanne and has 3 children; Edward, Bertie and Kitty but not to forget Cedric the cat and Alfie an adorable Cocker Poo!

Jonathan’s passion for life is evident. Live life to the full, exercise every single day, love people and do things that scare you! Life is about putting back, adding value and always improving people’s lives.

Life is short - let’s do it!
